Views of the Tourism

Marketing of the enjoyable and other features of a travel destination, and provision of facilities and services for the pleasure travelers (tourists) is know as tourism.

Tourism is travel for recreation, leisure, religious, family or business purposes, usually for a limited duration. Tourism is commonly associated with international travel, but may also refer to travel to another place within the same country.

Tourism is an important, even vital, source of income for many countries. Its importance was recognized in the Manila Declaration on World Tourism of 1980 as "an activity essential to the life of nations because of its direct effects on the social, cultural, educational, and economic sectors of national societies and on their international relations."

Different Views of the Tourism-
Tourism is a place that gain more knowledge from different cultural background.

Tourism is a temporary movement of people from their original environment to the place of interests or destination for the specific reasons and different purposes more than 24 hours.

Tourism deals with traveling to a new and different place for pleasure,for getting to know new places,for increasing your knowledge by learning a new culture, history and so on.

Tourism for is not only to travel and enjoy but to explore, and gain knowledge from different culture, country and places.

Tourism is mainly for leisure or pleasure or adventure. This would like a more elaboration on how business comes in the definition of tourism.

TOURISM DEFINED
T - totality of services required by tourists,
O - objective to experience and enjoy,
U - uniqueness of an undisturbed environment,
R - resting place complimented with activities,
I - income is generated from infrastructure,
S - sustained services rendered by persons,
M -motivated to nurture and preserve the natural resources, in order to pamper people of today and the future.

Tourism is different from travel. In order for tourism to happen, there must be a displacement: an individual has to travel, using any type of means of transportation (he might even travel on foot: nowadays, it is often the case for poorer societies, and happens even in more developed ones, and concerns pilgrims, hikers …). But all travel is not tourism.

Three criteria are used simultaneously in order to characterize a trip as belonging to tourism. The displacement must be such that;

  1.     It involves a displacement outside the usual environment: this term is of utmost importance and will be discussed later on;
  2.     Type of purpose: the travel must occur for any purpose different from being remunerated from within the place visited: the previous limits, where tourism was restricted to recreation and visiting family and friends are now expanded to include a vast array of purposes;
  3.     Duration: only a maximal duration is mentioned, not a minimal. Tourism displacement can be with or without an overnight stay. We shall discuss the particularity of in transit visits, from a conceptual and statistical point of view.
